The start/finish is located at the 6th Cavalry Museum in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia (6 Barnhardt Circle).
Getting To The Race
More details about a race shuttle providing transportation to and from select hotels will be provided later.
Parking is available at the 6th Cavalry Museum. To ensure a prompt start of the race, on-site parking closes at 6:45 am (EST). Please arrive before 6:45am if you plan to park on site.
DO NOT park on this road or on the grounds next to any monuments. You will be towed. If parking at businesses or churches close to the Start/Finish, please be respectful of the properties.
St. Gerard Catholic Church, a one block from the start finish area will also provide parking and restrooms. The cost will be $5.00 cash only.
Packets, including your race number and timing chip, can be picked up:
- Friday, November 11 - 12 noon to 7:00 pm (EST) - St Gerald Catholic Church (3049 LaFayette Road, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742).
- Saturday, November 12 from 6:00 am to 7:00 am (EST) - at the race site by the 6th Cavalry Museum (6 Barnhardt Circle, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742).
An optional to-go pasta dinner will be provided by the Knights of Columbus from 4-7pm at the packet pick-up location (St Gerald Catholic Church, 3049 LaFayette Road, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742). The dinner will consist of pasta (with or without meatball), side salad, roll, and dessert.
Runners can sign up for the pasta dinner during registration. If you already registered and want to signup for the pasta dinner, a link for the pasta dinner will be sent via email closer to the race date.
Before the start of the race, participants may store a bag in the "bag check" area near the start/finish area. Participants should place their belongings in a plastic bag and clearly label the bag with their race number. Please do not check valuables.
Bags will be available for pick-up after the race. Participants will need to show their race numbers to retrieve their bags. Bags that are not retrieved after the race will be thrown out or donated to charity.
Aid Stations on the Race Course
All Aid Stations will be Self-Serve. There will be 6 Aid Stations on the the Marathon / Half Marathon course, located approximately every 2 miles. They will have water, Powerade, fruit and basic first aid. We encourage you to carry your favoriite nuttrition. We will have HUMA gels at Aid Stations 3 & 6. There will be 1 Aid Station on the 5k Course that will have water only.
Transportation to the finish will be provided to any participant who cannot complete the race. For medical assistance on the course, or transportation to the finish, ask the nearest race volunteer. Professional medical personnel will be stationed at the start/finish line.
Bicycles, skateboards, baby strollers/joggers, roller skates, and animals are not allowed. Headphones are not allowed.
As a benefit to marathon and half marathon runners, we offer free pace teams led by experienced pacers (look for the pace time flags at the race start). Pace times are based on the availability of volunteer pacers - exact times will be posted closer to race day. In past years, example pace times include:
Half Marathon: 2:00, 2:15
Marathon: 3:20, 3:25, 3:30, 3:50, 4:30, 5:00
As a safety precaution, bicycle riders are highly discouraged from accompanying runners on the course. Runners who are not registered in the event should not accompany a participant. Any assistance to a participant, other than that provided at designated aid stations, may lead to disqualification. Disqualified participants will be ineligible for awards.
Spectators are essential race supporters. Please know how much we value their presence and energy. The capacity for spectators will be based on current health and safety guildines.
Post Race Food
Food and beverage for race participants will be provided by the Knights of Columbus at the end of their race.
Awards ceremonies will take place at the following times:
- 9:00 am - 5k awards
- 9:30 am - half marathon awards
- 11:30 am - marathon awards
If you miss the awards ceremony, awards will be available for pickup at the awards tent.
