The Fort Oglethorpe 5K is a fast and flat race equally suited the Couch to 5K crew, run/walkers, and advanced runners looking to set a new PR.

 

Whether you are a competitive runner or seek a family stroll, this 5k is a memorable activity to be enjoyed together.

 

PLUS, it’s within the same race village environment as the Chickamauga Battlefield Half and Full Marathons. Get all the excitement and energy of the endurance races without the training commitment!

Course

The route starts and finishes at the Old Post Bandstand in Fort Oglethorpe, the same spot as the Battlefield Half and Full Marathons.

 

Runners will make a loop through the Fairlawn Acres neighborhood, including a section on the Honor Park trail before returning to the race village.

 

The course has been certified by USATF (Certification #GA19001MS).

Timing

Runners will receive a gun and chip (net) time for their race.

 

Overall winners will be determined by gun time and age group winners confirmed by net time within each age group.

 

Results will be posted here after the race.

Awards

Awards will be given for the following categories:

 

→  Overall Male & Female
→  Masters Male & Female (40+)
→  Grandmasters Male & Female (50+)
→  Senior Grandmasters Male & Female (60+)

 

The top 3 finishers (male & female) in each age group, organized in 5-year increments from the “14 and Under” group up to 70+, will also receive awards.
